Wow!  Another year has passed by!!  Thank you again to our many great consigners and customers - Act II continues to grow because of your referrals - thank you for your patronage!!  I really appreciate the efforts of all the talented, dedicated employees who have helped build the business!

Celebrating 20 Years in Business!

It's hard to believe it has been 20 years since I opened Act II. In October, 1991, I rented my current suite which was considered a "vanilla box": sheetrock walls and a concrete floor. With the help of family and friends, I painted the walls, had carpet installed, and opened for business on November 16, 1991. A lot of businesses have come and gone in our center since then, but Ol' Heidelberg and Subway remain - we now have 8 (soon 9) restaurants!! So much has changed in the fashion and retail industries, as well as the consignment industry, over these last 20 years! A lot has changed at Act II, as well, as we've adapted to meet the needs of our customers and responded to a changing business environment. However, what has not changed is our dedication to quality and first class customer service!

I certainly appreciate the efforts of all the talented, dedicated employees who have helped build my business over the years. What a wonderful adventure this has been!

Act II Represented at National Conference

Recently Judy Chassay, Owner of Act II, attended the NARTS 24th Annual National Conference held this year at the Westin Galleria in Dallas, Texas, where over 500 consignment shops were represented from the U. S. and Canada. The four day conference is the industry's most comprehensive educational event of the year. Judy attended specialized resale workshops, stimulating networking sessions (one of which she moderated), and was inspired by a motivating keynote speech.

Judy has been a member of NARTS, the Association of Resale Professionals, for many years and has attended numerous national and regional conferences. "We have an ongoing commitment at Act II to continue our resale education, keep abreast of trends and issues related to the resale industry, and stay at the top of our profession," says Chassay. "I left the conference in Dallas with renewed energy and a multitude of invaluable ideas to help us provide exceptional service and quality merchandising to our customers."

Act II has been a part of Huntsville's retail scene since November 16, 1991. Established to provide the Tennessee Valley with a first class resale marketplace, Act II is nationally recognized as one of the best consignment businesses in Alabama. Spring 2011

Act II - a Trusted Name in Consignment for over 19 Years!

As temperatures warm and spring flowers bloom to adorn our landscape with natural beauty and vibrant colors, we know it's time to go through our closets!!

We now have seven restaurants in our shopping center - so parking is at a premium during lunch time! We do have a designated parking space in the back of the store for consignment drop offs. We have also started using the back door which is more convenient to our consignment processing area! (If the door is locked, just ring the door bell). In addition, we open at 9:00 in the morning and can also accept consignments by appointment after hours.

We've been receiving fabulous spring and summer merchandise daily - sizes 0 to 24. We have also received some great (new and nearly new) summer sandals - Talbots, Ann Taylor, Donald J. Pliner, Born, Clarks, Tommy Bahama, and White House Black Market. We've just received a shipment of new fashion jewelry and new watches, as well.

'Tis the Season - New Hours

It's that time of year - the holidays are upon us. We hope that you will enjoy the Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years, and Kwanzaa holidays this year - and appreciate the true meaning of each of these special seasons!

We've had a wonderful season so far - lots of great fashions arriving daily! Luxurious sweaters, warm wool coats and slacks, soft velour and corduroy jeans, silk and cashmere sweaters - in all the right colors!

In addition, we have some great gift items at wonderful prices! New watches, including cuff and silicone styles, Circle E candles in gift bags, shawls and knit neck scarves, a great selection of new fashion jewelry in gift boxes, and first quality Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles (sturdy enough to last several generations!) We also have gift certificates available!

Between now and New Years we will be having drawings for gift certificates - please stop in and register - no purchase necessary!

We have new hours to serve you: Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, if you have clothes to drop off you might consider parking in the back of our store and using our back door - just ring the door bell!

What's in Vogue this season?

The overall theme for fall and winter is relaxed chic. Military and tuxedo style jackets, and coat structured capes in longer lengths are very fashionable. Ruffles, from a tiny ripple down the front of a top to full tiers on dresses or skirts, are very popular. Leopard prints (the most enduring of all animal prints) remain strong. Our love affair with denim continues and indigo denim jeans - boot cut, boyfriend, or skinny styles are the latest. Accessories include Fedora hats and paper boy caps, chunky and bold jewelry, cuff watches, shawls and wraps, leggings, and faux fur vests. Lace remains strong and is ultra feminine - and teamed up with a variety of fabrics - from denim to leather! Skirts from mini to maxi are fashionable this season.

Fall 2010

As summer ends (and surely it will) it's time to go through your closets and update your fall wardrobe.

If you didn't wear it in the last year or two - it's time to move it out! Sometimes you have to cut your losses - you know - those fashion mistakes, wrong colors and gifts that just aren't your style. If your clothes are not becoming to you, they should be coming to Act II! Last year's fashions can be turned into this year's cash - don't let those "non-wearables" just hang in your closet to get outdated faster than you think.
